Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are substances injected into your face. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks.

Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it's injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.

Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.

Fillers can enhance skin by smoothing lines and plumping up areas of lost elasticity. They can be used to achieve a variety of results including:

  • Contouring the cheeks and chin
  • Filling deep lines, such as those that run from the nose to the mouth
  • Restoring fullness and definition to lips

A numbing cream is applied to minimise any discomfort and tiny amounts of the safe, gel-like filler are injected with an ultra-fine needle into the areas requiring treatment. Results ar instant and can last for several months.
